Sanctioned Tryouts in the Ohio Valley Region

Applications for Sanction of Tryouts are Open for GIRLS and BOYS. Tryouts are published as club directors apply for and receive sanction. If you don't see the tryouts for which you're looking, check again later, or contact the club director. Contact information is available for both clubs registered this season and clubs registered last season.

Clubs may host summer tryouts for the 2024-2025 season for female athletes turning 14 or older (as of June 30, 2025) from July 13th through July 31st.

Clubs may host fall tryouts for the 2024-2025 season for female athletes ages turning 10 through 12 beginning Friday, October 18th. Tryouts for athletes turning 13s through 14s beginning Friday, October 25th. Tryouts for ages 15 through 18 may begin Sunday, November 10th.

Clubs may host fall tryouts for female athletes of high school age the day after the state championships in their state. Athletes from surrounding states are not permitted to attend tryouts in another state until the day after the state tournament has concluded in their state of residence. The last two weekends of October is the first weekend tryouts are permitted for all other age groups. Contracts for elementary and junior high athletes may not be signed or accepted until October 25.

Tryout procedures (signup, forms, arrival time, etc.) vary by club. Carefully read the listings of those clubs for which you will try out, consulting their websites and contacting the individual listed if you have any questions about the tryouts. All OVR clubs must follow the tryout policies that are detailed in the OVR Athletes' Bill of Rights and in the OVR Procedures and Rules for Juniors' Clubs.

Verbal commitments by players or parents to clubs are not binding. Commitments must be in writing: e-mail, written note, payment by check or cash (receipt required), or signed contract are binding to both parties for that season. A player contract is one requirement for club licensure.

• Many clubs have their own form(s) as well, which participants must obtain directly from the clubs

Tryout sites, dates, and times occasionally may be revised. Before attending any tryout, please check again closer to the tryout date, and if the club has its own website, verify your plans there also.

IMPORTANT!!

Any player wishing to attend one of these tryouts MUST be a member of the Ohio Valley Region/USA Volleyball (or another USA Volleyball Region like: Keystone, Pioneer, etc.). Players with memberships for 2023-2024 may participate in July tryouts without any additional membership regardless of which club they played for in the 2023-2024 season.. Any new player must purchase with the Summer-Tryout membership or a One Event membership. For the July and Fall tryouts, we offer a $10 Tryout Membership (Starting June 4th.) which allows the participant to attend an unlimited number of tryout dates between July and December. This Tryout Membership is also good for attending tryouts in neighboring Regions like Keystone, Pioneer, etc.

Once a player/family has accepted an Early Signing Contract or regular Contract with a club, that player should not attend other club's tryouts. That would be unethical. The family cannot sign a second contract with a different club!

Registration

This $10 Tryout Membership covers the player with secondary medical insurance in case of an injury and helps to cover the facility/host club with liability insurance. This is in addition to any tryout fee the club themselves may charge. That fee goes towards their costs of running the tryout, like renting the facility, etc. Later when you sign a contract with a club, you will "Upgrade" your Tryout Membership to a full membership and the $10 is applied towards that full membership.

You do not need to be a member yet to see the listing. But you do need to have at least a Tryout Membership to attend one of the tryouts listed.
