Additional factors

  1. A coefficient will be used.

  2. Teams playing in 5 or more tournaments will have only their 5 best performances included in their coefficient throughout the season.

  3. If teams are tied for a position, then head-to-head competition, the number of tournaments participated in, and/or teams from the same area in a pool will be considered.

  4. Teams playing in a higher division will accrue 5 additional points for their total for each time they play "up" for a maximum of 10 additional points.

Rationale

Every system has strengths and weaknesses. In using this system, the Men's Tournament Director is trying to establish a fair and comprehensive seeding system for tournaments and our Regional Championships. This system rewards teams for winning games in pool play and playoffs. It requires tournament hosts to file complete and accurate result data. Penalties for not reporting accurate results promptly will need to be enforced.
